We offer some classes via livestream (zoom) as well as in the studio. If you are attending the class via zoom, simply click on the class saying 'online' rather than the one saying 'studio', and once you pay you'll receive the zoom link. Don't forget the times are in Adelaide times ACDT.
Bookings and payment are preferred as class numbers are small. If you choose not to book and pay online, you can simply show up before the class, and if there are spots you can pay using a card or cash. Please note, we cannot hold a spot for you unless payment is made.
If you need to cancel, please respect others by canceling your booking 4 hours prior to the class. Penalties for not doing this may apply.
We have props, but feel free to bring your own if you choose.
We do have heating (for classes in winter) but none of our classes are hot yoga classes :)
You don't need to look a particular way. We don't care what you wear. You can feel safe knowing that Ambika will be in her daggiest trackies and a t-shirt (often with David Bowie on it).
We want everyone to feel safe and supported at The Yoga Social, so we do not offer 'hands on' assists or adjusts.
Livestream classes are done so using a small laptop. This laptop is placed directly in front of the instructor, and will not show any other students in the room.
You. Are. Fab.
CLASSICAL - A Hatha class which can help you build strength, improve flexibility and relax and unwind. This class starts off with a vigorous flow, and then becomes static with less transitions to give you more time in each posture. This class is suitable for everybody, regardless of experience and level of fitness, and generally includes (as well as yoga poses) other practices of yoga including meditation, pranayama and a longer savasana.
FLOW & RESTORE - A half and half class for those of you who want it all! The first half is Flow (vinyasa), which consists of moving through postures with breath. This can bring your heart rate up, create heat and increase strength and stamina. The second half is Restore, which includes deep stretching and relaxation. This class is suitable for everyone, but remember, you'll be moving and sweating at the start!
YOGA BARRE - We’ve combined the best parts of flow yoga with barre inspired strength to bring you a class that is fun, fluid and a great workout! Tiny, repetitious movements to music equal a higher intensity class focused on building strength. This class is suitable for beginners, however if you are unsure, please come along to a classical class first.
RISE & FLOW - Prepare for the day with this 45 minute energising flow class. This class includes lots of standing postures to get the blood flowing and wake up the body, and some invigorating breathing techniques to help us focus. Who needs a coffee when we've got yoga? Ok, maybe some of us need both! Being 45 minutes, you'll still have time for your morning routine (and that coffee!).
REST & RESTORE - This Restorative class offers breathing techniques, relaxation postures, deep stretches and meditation to help calm the mind and release stress. This class is suitable for everybody. Assistance will be offered in the form of offering different props and options so you can find comfort in each pose. CHAIR YOGA - This Chair Yoga class is for those who need to take things slower and may find standing, or getting up and down off the floor a struggle. Most of this class is seated. There are some chair assisted standing postures, with options to stay seated if required. Perfect for Seniors, Pregnant students, People with a disability, and anyone wanting or needing to take it gentle and slow.
GENTLE FLOW - An inclusive class suitable for everyone no matter their level of experience, it encourages mindful movement and the use of breath to guide you through poses that assist you in building strength and flexibility. A rounded class which allows space for the student to be fully present and to leave the mat with a quieter mind and a lighter heart.
