Senior Chair Yoga can assist with the common experiences associated with ageing including stiff and painful joints, weakness, poor posture and digestion, changes in mood and also decreased lung capacity and difficulty breathing. In fact, a study at Hapres, Advances in Geriatric Medicine and Research, found that yoga "counteracts ageing processes" and "yoga was found useful in maintaining physical mobility and functional independence in seniors"

I am 77 years old and love the weekly chair yoga sessions with Ambika. The benefits for me have been a greater awareness of my posture and core strength when I go on morning walks. Also my balance is improving. Love it! (Liz, Adelaide) Since starting yoga with Ambika, I have noticed an improvement when turning my neck whilst driving. I have bursitis in one shoulder, and now have more movement in that shoulder. I would highly recommend chair yoga to anyone! (Derek, Adelaide) |
